Selling your home – usually your largest personal asset – can be a daunting task, especially in this market. The National Capital Region (Ottawa and surrounding areas) is experiencing a sellers market that is still experiencing low inventory of homes for sale and a robust group of buyers eager to make a move into a new home.
For the most part, listing prices are more realistic, there are less multiple offers on homes – although the homes in the right location, right price point and / or right condition are still under high demand. The backlog of buyers that drove the market earlier in the year to record sale prices and stiff competition for the homes that were for sale has calmed down considerably. However, there is still a demand for homes as we head into our fall and winter market.
As a seller, it is vitally important to have a knowledgeable, experienced REALTOR ® working on your behalf. The various stages of selling a home: preparing it for sale / staging, marketing / advertising, co-ordinating showings, negotiating the offer(s), along with properly pricing the home, require special skill sets. Taking care to meet the homeowners needs, wants and expectations and ensuring that the extra, behind-the-scenes tasks are completed in a timely manner help to make the home selling experience a positive one – with the right agent.
